A6-Norstone will never source natural stone from environmentally sensitive areas such as river systems.

Q1-Are Norstone rock panels made from natural stone?

A1-Norstone only produces and supplies natural stone products including Quartz for rock panels.

Q2-What holds Norstone rock panels together?

A2-Our rock panels are created/hand-made or created by hand from select pieces of cut premium stock natural stone, which are then adhered together using only the highest quality 2-part epoxy adhesive.

Q3-Is each rock panel different?

A3-Yes, like a finger print each panel is unique in design, colour blend and texture.

Q4-How do Norstone rock panels compare to others?

A4-Using only the highest grade natural stone stock and epoxy adhesive materials, Norstone rock panels are created with durability and design as the primary focus, displaying color richness and texture that are trademark only to Norstone.

Q5-Are the backs of rock panels clean or fixed to some other material?

A5-Norstone rock panels are clean, free of dust, dirt, adhesive residue or any foreign material on the back to allow maximum adhesion of the stone with the wall surface.

Q6-Why are natural stone rock panels superior to imitation stone panels?

A6-Norstone natural stone rock panels do not lose their color, texture or degrade due to age or exposure to weather.

Q7-Are rock panels held together with a mesh backing?

A7-No, we do not use mesh as it can seriously undermine the adhesive bond between the wall and the back of the rock panel.

Q8-Are rock panels adhered together with polymer glues?

A8-No, we only use a 2 part epoxy adhesive in manufacture for maximum strength and endurance.

Q9-Will the color of the stone fade?

A9-No, actually the color of the natural stone used in our rock panels will usually be enhanced with time.

Q10-Can rock panels be used in wet areas?

A10-Yes, rock panels can be used in or near swimming pools, water features, near beachfronts or salt spray.

Q11-Do Norstone rock panels stain?

A11-Whilst our rock panels are salt attack resistant, they may be adversely affected by cleaning with acid wash or use of incorrect tile adhesive.

Q12-Are rock panels affected by cold weather?

A12-Norstone rock panels can be used in subzero or freeze/thaw conditions with no adverse effect if installed correctly.

Q13-Are rock panels affected by heat?

A13-Norstone rock panels can be used for wall cladding in extreme climates, such as 40 to 50 degree Celsius or 104 to 122 Fahrenheit

A1-Metric: 610mm long x 152mm tall, thickness varying from 15 to 35mm; Imperial: 24" long x 6" tall, thickness varying from ¾ inch to  1½  inches (one square foot in area).

Q2-How much do rock panels weigh?

A2-Each panel weighs on average about 5.1 kgs or 11 lbs.

Q3-How many rock panels are there per Square Meter (m2)?

A3-There are 11 rock panels to one square metre.

Q4-How many rock panels are there per Square Foot (SF)?

A4-Only one, as each Rock Panel is exactly one square foot in size.

Q5-How do rock panels come packaged?

A5-There are 4 rock panels per box or 4 square feet per box, 48 boxes per crate or 192 rock panels (SF) per crate.

Q6-How many colours are available?

A6-Norstone offers 4 colours for rock panels: Ochre, Charcoal, White and Ivory.

Q1-How do I calculate the quantity I need?

A1-Measure each area to be clad and allow 10% extra for wastage.

Q2-How are rock panels laid?

A2-They should be laid in brick fashion i.e. they must stagger or overlap each other.

Q3-Are rock panels easy to install?

A3-Most competent home handyman could install rock panels.

Q4-How are rock panels cut?

A4-With a wet saw or tilers saw.

Q5-Who should install or fix rock panels?

A5-We strongly recommend using the services of professional tradesmen or stonemasons.

Q6-Do rock panels require mechanical fixing?

A6-Yes, generally above 3 metres or 10 feet, check local building codes for specific requirements.

Q7-Do rock panels need sealing?

A7-No, but if a permanent "wet" look is desired, then penetrating, but breathable acrylic sealers will achieve this.

Q8-Are rock panels easy to maintain?

A8-Definitely, rock panels are robust, easy to keep clean and do not fracture, deteriorate or lose their colour.

Q9-Are the backs of the rock panels flat?

A9-Yes this allows them to be glued or adhered effectively to a wall similar to wall tiles.

Q10-Is the front or face of a rock panel flat?

A10-No, each panel has pieces of stone of varying thickness to create a 3 dimensional stacked stone veneer.

Q11-Can rock panels be used for paving?

A11-No, Norstone rock panels can only be used for wall cladding.

Q12-What adhesive does Norstone recommend?

A12-We recommend a cementitious 2 part neutral tile adhesive.

Q13-Does Norstone supply corner pieces?

A13-Yes, interlocking finger joint corner sections are available and save considerable time on site.

Q14-Do I need further advice?

Q1-What is Monarostone?

A1-It's generic name is flagstone and it is a natural stone used for paving and cladding.

Q2-Is Monarostone made from natural stone?

A2-Norstone only produces and supplies natural stone products.

Q3-Is Monarostone cut to size?

A3-Monarostone is random in shape and size.

Q4-What are the sizes of Monarostone?

A4-Generally from 200 x 150 up to 600 x 300 or 8in x 6in to 2 feet x 1 foot.

Q5-How much does Monarostone weigh?

A5-Usually about 56kgs per square metre or 11lbs per square foot.

Q6-How is Monarostone packaged?

A6-In a wooden crate which holds 20 square metres or 220 square feet of loose stone.

Q7-How many colours are available?

A7-Norstone offers 2 colours for Monarostone: Ochre and Charcoal.

Q8-Is Monarostone backed with mesh?

A8-No, we do not use mesh as it undermines the bond with the tile adhesive.

Q9-Can Monarostone be used for wet areas?
